Mind Pad Model Editor

Model Editor allows to create class of frame objects with new properties. It simpler words it means that you can add more properties to standard frames and use new frames on your work-space.

"Model" is a set of objects and their attributes that you can use in Mind Pad.

Run Model Editor

There are two ways to run Mind Pad model editor:

• Select Model Editor command in Start > Programs > Mind Pad menu.
• Run mindpad.exe with -editor key as a parameter.

Models management

In Model Editor you can manage your model files:

• Install model. Use this command to open some model in Model Editor.
• Uninstall model. Use this command to remove some model from Model Editor.
• Create new model. Select to start creating new model.
• Edit model. This command allows to edit current model. 

Expanding base model with new object

Know, let's try to make use of modeling features of Mind Pad. We will create a new object type called "Contact". It will have properties necessary for describing any contact some person might have.

1. On a "Model hierarchy" tag right-click on the model and select "Edit model"
2. Now select the root object called "Object" and click "Add new frame class button".
3. Use properties list to rename the class and give it a little description text:

5. Now let's select AttributeDefProxies property and click "..." for actual attribute managing.
6. I'd like to add new "Contact e-mail" attribute to class:

8. And I will now add "Last contact date" attribute to my class:

10. Click "OK" to close Attribute Types editor.
11. Press Control + S to save model.

Using New Frame Class

Let's close Model Editor and run Mind Pad.

1. Click Frame Type selection drop list
2. In appeared "Select frame class" dialog, select "Contact" frame class and click OK.

4. Now it's easy to create two "Contact" frames, fill in some data and link them.
