What's new in Mind Pad 2.6

In the beginning of 2006 year, AKS-Labs has released v 2.6 of Mind Pad, a .NET mind, process and concept mapping software for Windows.

In version 2.6 you will find new features that will make your work with Mind Pad more reliable. Most of ideas that we have released were suggested by our users, so you have in mind something you miss, let us know.

Fit to page function

Fit to page function was added. When printing map you can change page setup, so Mind Pad will print a whole map on a single page. (see menu "File" > "Page Setup").

Frames re-arranging

In Mind Pad you have an opportunity to change the order of child frames, but it's sometime difficult to do. We have designed a special dialog for this task. See "Reorder children" in Workspace menu.

Drag-and-drop for files

In version 2.6 you can drag-and-drop files from your desktop. It's a very useful function, as Mind Pad will do the following:

Create a new frame using file's icon;
Create a hyperlink to the file (you should double-click on the icon to open it);
Use an appropriate style when creating a new frame;

Try it yourself. You just need to drag-and-drop some file from the desktop to some frame at workspace.

Passing any frame parameter to URL

There is a new function in Mind Pad. Now you can pass any frame's property as a parameter to URL hyperlink.

For instance, you can point your web-browser to the web-site www.mind-pad.com and use the text from frame as a parameter (see the screenshot). Note: you can pass any property as a parameter.

Also, we have added a new custom designed icons, so this dialog now is very nice.

Handy styles management

We have added a new ability to manage styles in Mind Pad. Now, all styles from Mind Pad Style Library are represented visually.

What you need to do to assign style is select a frame at workspace and double click on the appropriate style from styles list.

More free space

We have changed the default setting of Mind Pad, so now you will be able to use more free space for your map.

All the hidden functions are still available: find tree tags under properties/styles dialogs.

Ordering

We have released some really useful features, but we keep the same pricing for Mind Pad. You can purchase a single license for 60 US$.

Also, existent users of Mind Pad can download updated version for free.
